Bless me over

Yesterday, I went to bed at 6am only to wake up to the incessant and rude beeping of my alarm. Needless to say, I had a case of the Mondays yesterday. And after sleeping for many hours upon returning home, I still had a case of the Mondays.

I started thinking about how much I hate getting up early everyday to go to a job I hate. Oh how I hate when I think like that, although it is rare. I do not like my job but I’m blessed to have one right now. I was still in bed, 45 minutes after my alarm rang, thinking about how many people God has blessed. Thinking about how excited people are when they get news of a new blessing. I haven’t had one of those moments in a long time. And it seems so often for some other folks. It’s hard not to think “why not me”.

Then I read something this morning that shook me awake: “Never envy others. You may not be able to handle what they have received. You must be willing to wait for your own blessings!” Then I began signing Trinity 5:7’s Over and Over in bed and started feeling better. Got up and sang it in the shower and felt even more encouraged.

So if you’re finding it difficult to start your day, take a moment and count your blessings, great or small. And do one thing that will surely remind you that your blessings may not show up when they do for others, but they are on the way. And even when they don’t, He’s still blessing you.

Have a great day.
